Clerk Criminalistics (KTD)

Criminal technicians support the investigation of crimes. The specialists in criminalistics secure traces at the crime scene and document the trace pattern using modern methods. They carry out the identification processing of persons and use technical as well as scientific methods for trace detection, evidence preservation, and evaluation. This creates a reliable, court-admissible basis for investigations and criminal proceedings.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a clerk criminalistics by agreement.
Your area of responsibility
- Professional advice to operational forces on trace preservation and crime scene work
- Conducting trace detection and preservation in various types of crimes
- Criminalistic crime scene work including evidence preservation and documentation
- Photographic documentation of crime scenes, persons, accidents, and traces
- Carrying out identification measures and identification work
- Trace and laboratory technical evaluations in the fields of classical and scientific criminalistics as well as qualitative trace assessment
- Preparation of criminalistic reports and ensuring court-admissible evidence as well as preparation of physical evidence for investigative and prosecuting authorities
- Ensuring compliance with standards, guidelines, and legal requirements
- Further development of criminalistic methods, equipment, and processes
- Providing on-call and weekend services
What we expect from you
- Completed studies in forensic science or criminology (Université de Lausanne or equivalent training) otherwise Federal Certificate as a police officer with criminal police professional experience, preferably in the field of criminalistics
- Willingness for continuous training and further education in the field of criminalistics and forensics
- Strong interest in criminalistic and criminal investigative work
- High sense of responsibility and careful handling of traces and evidence, as these are often unique and not reproducible
- Good legal knowledge and understanding of criminal procedural processes and legal frameworks
- Structured, precise, and independent working style with quick comprehension
- Strong digital competence and enjoyment in working with IT tools and technical analysis and operational equipment
- Assertiveness, flexibility, and high psychological resilience, especially during operations at stressful incident sites (e.g., major crimes, large events, dealing with deceased persons)
