Supervision and Subsequent Control | from June 1, 2026 or by arrangement
The Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology METAS is the reference institute for measurements and measuring instruments in Switzerland. To ensure that a liter is always a liter (e.g., when refueling), METAS performs calibrations, conformity assessments, and consultations for business, research, and administration. Measurement accuracy creates trust, especially at the societal and political level, and is indispensable in many areas: road traffic, electricity billing, time transmission, measurements in environmental and health sectors, etc. At METAS, various disciplines come together and complement each other – and this has been the case since 1862.
Your new challenge
- Support, assistance, coordination, and training of the METAS-authorized verification offices regarding the statistical testing procedure for around 5 million electricity meters in Switzerland
- Responsibility for operational data processing and maintenance related to the statistical testing procedure
- Inspections, approvals, and decisions concerning the tested meter batches
- Coordination of support and adjustments of the internal testing software
- Regular, planned audit accompaniment at the authorized verification offices for the statistical testing procedure
Your profile
- Federal certificate of competence in a technical profession, ideally in electrical engineering (e.g., electrician) with completion of higher vocational training (Federal Diploma/Certificate of Competence or HF Diploma) and several years of professional experience
- Experience in data maintenance and solid knowledge of databases
- Enthusiasm for interdisciplinary issues, enjoyment of teamwork as well as collaboration with external testing offices
- Decisiveness combined with assertiveness
- Good knowledge of two official languages (German and French) spoken and written
