Laboratory Technician EFZ Chemistry Specialization (80-100%) in the Field of Organic Geochemistry (m/f/d)
We are looking for an analytical person responsible for the area of Organic Geochemistry Analytics. As part of your duties, you will independently organize the laboratory operations and carry out sedimentological and lipid analyses for research projects.
Your tasks
• Operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of gas chromatograph,
gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer, SoliTOC
• Routine and advanced organic geochemical analyses of lipids
• Analyses of sediments (TOC and grain size distribution)
• Advising and guiding researchers and students
• Deputizing for other laboratory staff in the department,
including conducting (sediment) sampling
Who are we looking for?
For these demanding and varied tasks, you bring training as a Laboratory Technician EFZ specializing in Chemistry and/or a HFP or FH degree. You have excellent technical skills and a solid theoretical and practical background in organic chemistry. In addition, you have experience in gas chromatography, especially in fault diagnosis and troubleshooting. You value efficient organization of laboratory operations to ensure the highest data quality. You would like to work with international students within research projects and co-supervise laboratory trainees, requiring flexibility and teamwork skills. Very good oral and written German and English skills as well as confident IT skills (especially common Office programs) are required. A category B driver's license completes your profile. You are interested in fieldwork and would be willing to obtain a boat license and occasionally work outside regular working hours.
