Start as a Senior Insurance Manager and gradually grow into the role of Head of Insurance. You will organize the succession in an orderly manner: initially, you take on central tasks, later – in coordination with the current Head of Insurance – the overall responsibility for the insurance in-house broking and the third-party customer portfolio of Axpo.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Take over the operational management of defined insurance areas and ensure efficient portfolio management.
- Collaborate with group companies, third-party customers, insurers, and brokers. Build solid knowledge about Axpo and the energy industry through risk inspections, etc.
- Lead tenders, negotiations, and placements of national and international programs. Support group companies and third-party customers on insurance matters. Contribute to the further development of the insurance management concept.
- Support in complex claims cases. Assist in enforcing contractual claims and developing prevention measures based on claims experience.
- Take over the overall responsibility for leading the Insurance department as a profit center in the medium term. Ensure an optimal service level and compliance with legal requirements.
- Gradually take over the leadership of a small team of four employees. Coach and develop the employees. Conduct status assessments. Ensure succession planning.
- Represent Axpo's interests in the industry associations VIB and SIRM. Establish exchange with insurance managers of other companies.
Profile & Requirements
- Commercial, business administration, or legal education. Excellent insurance technical expertise required.
- Several years of experience as an (in-house) broker or in the insurance industry, preferably in underwriting corporate business. Experience in liability, machinery, or property insurance sectors.
- Professional and personal requirements demanded by FINMA. Recognized training qualification for registration as an independent insurance intermediary. Impeccable reputation required.
- Entrepreneurial and customer-oriented thinking and acting. High degree of personal responsibility, independence, and teamwork. Composure and reliability. Sales flair and negotiation skills.
- Successful leadership experience and willingness to gradually take over the management of the corporate Insurance function.
- Strong IT affinity and confident handling of common tools (e.g., MS 365). Interest in digital solutions in the insurance environment.
- Very good German and English skills.
