Tasks:
- performs technical vehicle inspections to verify compliance with regulations and their safety, implementing necessary measures to standardize evaluation criteria, aiming to ensure fair and uniform treatment of inspected vehicles
- conducts driving tests to assess driving suitability
- controls requests for voluntary inspections and certifications of coupling devices
- keeps technical sheets updated regarding modifications made to vehicles and technical topics concerning vehicle components, becoming the reference person
- supports administrative colleagues in filling out technical sheets and general technical information
- provides information to users and interacts with users courteously and politely
- performs special tasks related to their function as directed by superiors
- availability to perform part-time activities at the Navigation Service (boat inspections and possibly practical exams)
Requirements:
- federal certificate of competence (AFC) as an automotive mechatronics technician or automotive maintenance mechanic or in another equivalent technical profession
- have practiced the profession for at least one year after completing apprenticeship
- have held a Swiss category B driving license for at least 3 years without compromising traffic safety through traffic violations
- hold driving licenses for categories A and C or formally commit to obtaining them at own expense within one year of employment
- hold a category A navigation license
- communication skills with external users
- mediation and negotiation skills
- stress management skills
- good knowledge of Italian (conversation and writing), written and spoken knowledge of at least one other official language
- be at least 23 years old
- no record incompatible with the function
- Swiss nationality
Special remarks:
- candidates participating in the competition authorize the Traffic Section to process all data necessary to verify the absence of records incompatible with the function, including from other authorities
- the selected candidate must obtain the traffic expert diploma by attending the designated courses (expenses borne by the cantonal administration) which will allow integration into the Expert function, classification 6
- since traffic experts may later be candidates to undergo training to conduct driving tests, the Traffic Section reserves the right to subject candidates to aptitude tests and a practical driving exam
- the employment relationship will be converted into an appointment once the candidate holds both the traffic expert diploma and the driving licenses for categories A and C
Application conditions:
- applications must be submitted online. Other forms of application will not be considered valid
- in addition to documents to be submitted at the time of online application (cover letter and motivation, curriculum vitae, diplomas, certificates and work attestations), additional documentation may be requested later (criminal record with related self-certification and health status self-certification)
Employment conditions:
- appointment or assignment: as provided by the Law on the organization of State employees and teachers of March 15, 1995 (LORD) and the related Regulation. Any changes in law concerning salary and organization are explicitly reserved
- working hours: 42 hours per week (for a 100% employment relationship), flexible or according to service needs
