Job Description

Your role
Based in Geneva, as part of a global team, your role as ESG Analyst will include the following main duties:
Governance and reporting (60%)
- Support ESG Manager in meeting relevant regulatory requirements, e.g., CSRD,
- Prepare documents, e.g., ESG report / sustainability statements
- Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency gains and to meet audit recommendations
- Further document processes / procedures to support non-financial audit trails
- Support with the annual double materiality assessment and EU taxonomy alignment
- Suggest action plans, assist implementation, prepare training materials for internal & external stakeholders
Data collection and analysis (20%)
- Support Vitol departments in optimising ESG data collection processes
- Ensure data submitted to Vitol KPI reporting platform by investment companies is accurate and up to date
- Conduct analysis of ESG and GHG data: benchmarking, interpreting results, benchmarking, executive reporting
Ad hoc support (20%)
- Provide analytical support across other areas of ESG
- Ad-hoc projects
Qualifications
- Degree (or higher) in relevant subject, e.g., Sustainability, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering
- 1-3 years’ experience in an analytical role (incl. internships), e.g., audit, consulting, banking
- Analytical mindset, quantitative, excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills, with superb attention to detail
- Entrepreneurial drive, ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Excellent problem-solving skills, able to find pragmatic solutions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to convey complex concepts in simple terms
- Full proficiency communicating in English in a business context (verbally and in writing)
Additional Information
- Previous experience in commodities, trading and/or energy industries
- Some knowledge of ESG reporting standards, CSR laws and regulations, GHG accounting methodologies
