Medical secretary for the Neurology Service desk
The secretariat of the Neurology Service, attached to the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, is looking for a medical secretary at a rate of activity between 80% - 100%, starting May 1, 2026.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and training.
The Department of Clinical Neurosciences includes the Neurosurgery, Neurology, Neuropsychology and Neurorehabilitation Services, the Leenaards Memory Center, the Neuroscience Research Center, as well as the Spinal Surgery Service. It cares for patients suffering from diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system, from the brain to the muscle.
The Neurology Service, led by Prof. Renaud du Pasquier, cares for patients suffering from central or peripheral nervous system disorders.
It treats multiple pathologies such as strokes, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, headaches, brain tumors, diseases affecting intellectual functions, and genetic diseases.
Mission
- You play a central role in the management and complete administrative follow-up of patient files, ensuring their quality and compliance
- You are the first point of contact for the service: you welcome, inform, and support patients, their relatives, as well as visitors and collaborators, and manage telephone calls with professionalism, empathy, and a sense of service, respecting CHUV guidelines
- You handle the administrative management of outpatients, applying the procedures and directives of the patient administrative management service (GAP) with precision
- You actively collaborate within the internal flows of the DNC and with the various intersectoral partners of CHUV, promoting effective communication
- You ensure the smooth logistical and office functioning of the service, guaranteeing an optimal working environment for the team.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a commercial employee and ideally have medical secretary training, with at least 3 years of experience in a similar position
- You have perfect command of French and type with ease and speed
- You demonstrate versatility, good prioritization skills, and rigorous organization
- You are a punctual, smiling, friendly, and respectful collaborator, with excellent interpersonal skills adapted to each interlocutor
- You show empathy, active listening, and availability, and are comfortable with common office tools as well as CHUV-specific tools.
