The Faculty of Psychology is one of the seven faculties of the oldest university in Switzerland. With our focuses on Society & Choice and Health & Interventions, we are nationally and internationally successful in research and education. The newly established division of Youth Mental Health deals with mental health and transdiagnostic symptoms of emotional dysregulation in children and adolescents. To this end, we employ a combination of clinical, experimental, neurobiological, and ambulatory assessments. With the planned research project, we aim to determine the extent to which psychophysiological data collected via smartphones from adolescents in the general population correlate with their everyday emotional experiences and mental health. To achieve this, we are seeking an individual who is equally interested in youth mental health and innovative research methods, and who is motivated to pursue a PhD.
Your position
Development and implementation of a research project on psychophysiological ambulatory assessments via smartphone
Project coordination and recruitment of study participants
Data collection with adolescents and monitoring of ambulatory assessment
Data processing and statistical analysis
Presentation of scientific results in internal meetings, at national and international conferences
Writing and publishing scientific publications
Conducting teaching activities, supervising bachelor and master theses
Your profile
Outstanding master's degree in psychology
Initial experience in teaching bachelor's and/or master's seminars
High level of initiative, independent work organization, reliable and meticulous work ethic, high degree of commitment and resilience
Very good oral and written German and English skills
Experience in analyzing longitudinal data (multilevel or structural equation models) is an advantage
Technical affinity; previous experience in collecting and processing psychophysiological or (neuro-)biological data is an advantage
