Intern/Thesis on Augmented Reality assistance for instrument tray kitting - from now for 6 months

Our offer to you:

  • Augmented Reality: Collaborate with our team of software and hardware specialists to develop an augmented reality assistance for checks on instrument trays, particularly for Trauma & Extremities (T&E). The assistance should understand the real scene, show instructions, and highlight objects and locations. Different AR options should be evaluated from smartphone to AR headsets.

  • Learning & Development: Gain a comprehensive understanding of clinical requirements and the medical product development process within the Research & Development (R&D) team. Get familiar with state-of-the-art technologies for identifiers (e.g. RFID, data matrix) and measurements (e.g. sensors, 3D cameras)

  • Computer Vision and AI:

    Utilize classical and deep learning methods to define AI algorithms for instrument tray checks together with our AI experts. Employ these algorithms in a hardware prototype and discuss the solution with different stakeholders from Stryker and clinical partners.

  • Innovative Contribution: Work at your own pace on diverse and challenging tasks. Identify actionable insights, make recommendations, and contribute to the development of new concepts and innovations within the Trauma & Extremities portfolio.

  • Educational Background: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Engineering, Computer Science, Medical Technology, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field, with a focus on digital technologies.

  • Technical Proficiency: Possess a strong technical understanding and experience in image processing, electronics, programming (Python or C# preferred), enabling effective engagement with different task on visualization, automation, and AI development.

  • Adaptability to New Technologies: Exhibits a keen interest in and openness to emerging technologies, demonstrating a willingness to explore and integrate innovative solutions in the field of medical imaging, identifiers, sensors, and AI.

  • Professional Attributes: Demonstrates resilience, independence, and a collaborative spirit, contributing positively to our dynamic team environment.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving and data understanding capabilities help you structure the work, envision digital applications, and develop them.

  • Communication skills: Proficient communication skills in English (oral and written), basic understanding of German and basic MS Office skills enable you to interact easily and secure in an innovative and international development environment and complete your profile.
