The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zurich invites applications for an

Assistant Professorship (non-tenure track) in Epidemiology, with focus on Causal Inference & Health Economics.

The assistant professorship will be located at the Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Prevention Institute (EBPI) of the Faculty of Medicine. The EBPI is in addition affiliated with the Faculty of Science of the University of Zurich.

The professorship in Epidemiology with a focus on causal inference and health economics addresses current methodological issues in its field and their application in population-based and clinical research. The professorship is designed to work with both observational studies and routine care data to generate evidence from real-world care.

The professorship provides teaching in the context of the Bachelor, Master and PhD programs at the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Science. Here, students will be provided with a basic understanding of methods of causal inference and health economic analyses.

The successful candidate holds a PhD or MD degree. He or she has a proven research track in the field of the professorship, especially concerning the development and application of modern methods of causal inference and health economics, and preferably in the area of chronic disease prevention and treatment. In addition to an excellent track record in research, a collaborative attitude with a willingness to support groups at the EBPI and at UZH is expected. A strong motivation for innovative teaching and support of junior scientists is desirable.
