THE OPPORTUNITY

Digital Ethics & Compliance (DE&C) is part of E&C organization and focuses on what the organization needs by ensuring:

  • Ethical behaviour plays a fundamental role in risk mitigation.

E&C commits to:

  • Act as role model for Takeda's values, ethics and values-based decision making, fostering this mindset in clients, partners, and team.
  • Enable the organization to take decisions which are ethical and in line with our priorities of Patient, Trust, Reputation, and Business
  • Collaborate across all E&C teams and partner with GD&T stakeholders to embed ethics and compliance as part of the way everyone works at Takeda.

DE&C Team addresses digital, data and compliance risks by:

  • Providing a RE&C framework, SOP and other tools that supports GD&T organization to incorporate Ethics and Privacy by Design in their Data and Technology programs and platforms.
  • Deploying the Global E&C Programs towards strengthening Takeda Ethical culture, Risk Management and Regulatory compliance.
  • Acting as a E&C authority, trusted partner, and collaborator to ensure all digital operations are compliant and ethical, while also leveraging the latest technologies to drive innovation and growth.
  • Works with BU/BFs and GD&T to ensure that data and digital technologies are embedding ethics and compliance in the design on the products and platforms.

This global position involves implementing and maintaining policies, standards, and guidelines related to digital ethics and compliance, with a focus on data privacy, AI ethics, and regulatory adherence.

ACCOUNTABILITIES


As a Digital Ethics and Compliance Corporate Functions Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the ethical and compliant use of digital technologies within the organization's various corporate departments, including human resources, finance, communications, and public affairs.

This global position involves implementing and maintaining policies, standards, and guidelines related to digital ethics and compliance, with a focus on data privacy, AI ethics, and regulatory adherence.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Policy Implementation

  • Develop and implement digital ethics and compliance policies, standards, and guidelines tailored to corporate functions, ensuring alignment with global objectives.

Advisory Role

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on digital ethics and compliance matters, particularly concerning data privacy and AI ethics, to corporate functions. Act as a resource for teams facing ethical dilemmas or compliance challenges.

Controls Implementation

  • Support the integration of data privacy controls, AI ethics controls, and data/information retention controls within corporate functions.
  • Ensure that these controls align with relevant laws and regulations.

Risk Management

  • Monitor and assess digital ethics and compliance risks and opportunities within corporate functions.
  • Regularly report on performance and progress to relevant stakeholders.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including business leaders, legal, audit, regulators, customers, and civil society.
  • Foster a culture of digital ethics and compliance through open communication and cooperation.

Best Practices Promotion

  • Identify, promote, and implement best practices and innovative solutions for digital ethics and compliance within corporate functions.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging standards.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field (law, ethics, compliance, digital technology, or business administration).
  • Minimum of five years of experience in digital ethics and compliance or a related field, preferably within a corporate function or multinational organization.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of digital ethics and compliance principles, frameworks, and standards, with a focus on their application to corporate functions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse audiences.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical judgment, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and collaborative mindset, capable of working independently and as part of a global team.
  • Experience with the implementation of data privacy by design and AI ethics by design principles.
