Your team
Pictet Alternative Advisors (PAA) is a leading alternative investment specialist and wholly owned subsidiary of the Pictet Group, with expertise in hedge funds, private equity and global real estate. With teams based around the world, the PAA teams construct, manage and advise on portfolios of alternative investment solutions for institutional and private clients.
You will be part of a team of 20 professionals dedicated to Pictet’s pan-European Direct Real Estate franchise, which began in 2019 with the launch of Elevation Fund I, a EUR 700 million value-add fund. Elevation Fund II was launched in 2023, and a Core Plus fund, with approximately EUR 200 million under management, was launched in 2021. The team is distributed across several locations: in London, where the core investment and asset management teams are based; in Geneva, where the investment legal and investor relations teams operate; and in Berlin, Stockholm, and Madrid, where our regional heads are located. Additionally, fund support functions such as fund administration, compliance, and legal affairs are situated in Luxembourg.
Based in Geneva or London, you will work closely with the Senior Legal Advisor covering the Direct Real Estate activity to support the activity during the maternity leave of our Legal Advisor.
Your role
- Lead the review, drafting and negotiation of a wide range of real estate and financing documents, including shareholders’ agreements, financing agreements, lease agreements, SPAs, construction agreements, etc.
- Support direct real estate transactions from inception to closing, helping to drive execution by coordinating legal workstreams, managing negotiations and liaising with internal stakeholders and external advisers.
- Act as a key legal partner on cross-border matters, working closely with internal teams across jurisdictions on transaction status, documentation, payment mechanics and related execution steps. It would be important to evidence having led transactions in at least 3 different jurisdictions.
- Provide day-to-day legal support on asset management and project matters, combining strong technical legal drafting with a practical, solutions-oriented approach to business issues. Business oriented mindset finding solutions to our team’s problems instead of acting only as a gatekeeper.
- Lead and support legal documentation for development, construction and refurbishment matters, including preparing, revising and finalising project and works contracts for counterparties.
Your profile
- At least 5 years’ experience (post-qualification) in the real estate department of a major and reputable law firm.
- Rigorous, with excellent numeracy skills and a keen attention to detail.
- A strong interest in and/or experience with AI would be an asset.
- Fluency in English is a must, French, Spanish, German or Danish would be an asset.
- The role can be located in London or in Geneva.
