As a DXP Architect (Contentstack) at Merkle, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering experience-led, composable digital platforms for our global clients. You will lead the definition of scalable architectures based on Contentstack CMS, enabling seamless omnichannel experiences across web, mobile, and emerging touchpoints.
Acting as a trusted advisor, you will bridge business and technology, translating complex requirements into future-proof, API-first architectures aligned with MACH and composable DXP principles. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams across strategy, experience, and engineering to deliver impactful customer experiences.
Your Responsibilities
At Merkle, the focus of your role will be the architectural leadership and delivery of complex digital experience platforms, leveraging Contentstack and composable technologies:
- Lead the end-to-end architecture of digital platforms based on Contentstack CMS
- Define and drive composable DXP strategies in alignment with client transformation roadmaps
- Translate business and marketing requirements into scalable, API-first solution architectures
- Design and oversee: Content models, taxonomies, and governance frameworks. Multi-channel and multi-site delivery strategies, localization and editorial workflows
- Define integration patterns across the ecosystem (e.g., commerce, DAM, CDP, personalization tools)
- Collaborate with frontend teams using frameworks such as Next.js, React, or Vue
- Drive proof of concepts (PoCs), technology evaluations, and innovation initiatives
- Ensure performance optimization via CDN strategies, caching, and edge delivery
- Provide technical leadership to distributed development teams: Code reviews, Architecture governance, Mentorship and best practices
- Partner with DevOps teams to define CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployment models
- Act as a client-facing architect, supporting workshops, solution presentations, and pre-sales activities
Qualifications
- Proven experience with Contentstack CMS
- Strong understanding of headless and composable architecture principles (MACH)
- Demonstrated ability to deliver enterprise-scale DXP implementations
Technical Expertise
- Hands-on experience with Contentstack capabilities:
- Content modeling and environment architecture
- REST & GraphQL APIs
- Webhooks and automation (e.g., Contentstack Automate)
- Extensions and marketplace integrations
- Strong knowledge of modern web technologies:
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- HTML5, CSS3
- Frontend frameworks (React, Next.js preferred)
- Experience with:
- API design and integration (REST, GraphQL)
- Microservices and serverless architectures
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Solid understanding of:
- CDN and edge delivery strategies
- Security, authentication (OAuth, JWT)
Architecture & Consulting Skills
- Strong expertise in software architecture and distributed systems
- Ability to:
- Drive architectural decisions and governance
- Facilitate client workshops and align stakeholders
- Translate business goals into technical solutions
- Experience working in consulting environments with cross-functional teams
- Proven ability to lead and influence teams in complex delivery setups
Education
- Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or comparable experience
Languages
- Fluent in English
- French proficiency is a big plus and strongly preferred.
