Senior Accountant, GL SSC (f/m/d)
Job Purpose
In the role of Senior Accountant within the Central Accounting Services (CAS) Team of Straumann Group, you will be responsible for closing tasks and act as a global contact person for external consultancies. In addition, you will play a major role in optimizing lean processes and support the Head of Central Accounting Services in project related and daily tasks.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Responsible for monthly and annual closing of Swiss entities, based on OR and IFRS level
- Organization of global audits
- Ensure compliance with local and international accounting regulations, tax laws, and internal policies.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audit activities, including the preparation of audit schedules and responses to audit inquiries.
- Review & Optimize process improvement as preparation for future audits
- Together with CAS Lean Team identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance internal controls, and improve overall efficiency within the finance function.
- Implement best practices and automation tools to optimize workflows and reduce manual efforts.
- Responsible for the monthly/ yearly company tax calculation, statistical analysis, VAT and intrastate reporting with accurate data in a timely manner
- Lead and manage ad Interim a team of accountants responsible for day-to-day financial activities Leading function part of project tasks until team can be integrated into SSC
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to team members to ensure high performance, adherence to company policies, and professional development.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (legal, tax, finance, etc.) and external consultants to drive project milestones, mitigate risks, and achieve project objectives within established timelines and budgets.
- Support Head CAS in managing and coordinating global accounting projects such as mergers, acquisitions, S4 implementation, integration into SSC
- Support S4Hana and finance transformation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in accounting/finance roles with increasing levels of responsibility, including team leadership and project management.
- Strong knowledge of Swiss GAAP FER, IFRS, and international accounting standards.
- High IT & number affinity and track record in handling ERP systems (SAP FI/CO, SAP BW)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and interact with senior management.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
