ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Junior Payroll Manager is supporting all payment activities within the German Payroll run (approx. 700 employees) and reports to the Senior Payroll Manager. The role will serve as a temporary assignment and is based at our Operational Headquarters in Basel, Switzerland.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supporting the monthly payroll run in SAP and SuccessFactors
- Recording and checking ongoing wage changes in the master data as well as variable data
- Data verification of master data for new hires, departures, and changes
- Monthly reports to health insurance, social security institutions, as well as the relevant tax office
- Communication with authorities and insurance companies as well as preparation of employer certificates
- Contact person for questions of employees, financial accounting and external partners
- Assessment of employment relationships in regards to social security, especially for new hires
- Monthly creation of Payroll related reporting
- Supporting the team in various administrative tasks as well as HR projects
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong skills in MS-Office, with a particular focus on Excel (e.g. Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis etc.) and a strong affinity for working with numbers
- Attention to detail with a structured and organized approach to administrative tasks
- Initial exposure to German payroll processes, with a basic understanding of tax, social security, and labor law concepts, is considered an advantage
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Independent, precise and reliable way of working
- Proactive and eager to learn with a hands-on mentality
- Committed and team-oriented personality
EDUCATION
- Completed commercial education and further training in payroll / social insurance or at least 6 years of professional experience in Payroll
NICE TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
- Commercial background (education or training) or initial exposure to Payroll / HR
- Willingness to develop expertise in payroll processes
