Job Description
This position is open Thalwil, Switzerland; Tampere, Finland; or Cabourne, UK As an Application Engineer, you will be part of an international team within the Standard Precision and Low Power business unit, delivering exceptional technical support services and helping customers around the world successfully integrate u-blox GNSS products into Industrial and Consumer applications. In this role, you will act as a technical product expert, dedicated to ensuring customers have the product knowledge, design-in guidance, and support they need to succeed. You will serve as an advocate for end users within the organization by gathering and communicating technical feedback to highlight issues, identify areas for improvement and contribute to evolving product requirements. You will work closely with multiple teams - including Product Management, Product Development and R&D value teams, as well as Field Application Engineering, Sales and Quality - to support customer projects globally, clear roadblocks toward successful product design-in and ensure seamless and satisfactory user experience across a variety of engagements. Your Responsibilities
Manage customer expectations and provide high-quality remote and on-site technical support for GNSS applications and projects. Provide support from customer first evaluation, to design-in and through to maintenance phases, ensuring seamless integration and maximum product value. Author and contribute to technical product documentation, including datasheets, integration and user manuals, application notes and technical content for internal and external audiences. Act as a technical expert, empowering customers through design-in guidance, technical documentation, and personalized support. Collect and process customer feedback, identify areas for improvement and communicate insights to internal stakeholders to drive product enhancements. Collaborate proactively with Product Management, Product Development and R&D during product definition, development and improvement processes. Provide customized design-in vehicles, prototype deliveries and tailored technical solutions to accelerate customer adoption of new technologies. Analyze non-conformities, support root-cause investigations and contribute to corrective actions with the R&D teams. Host technical trainings and workshops for Field Application Engineers and key customers worldwide.
Your Skills and Experience
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field Hands-on experience in embedded software and/or hardware design (digital and analog) Customer-focused mindset with the ability to quickly understand customer system architectures and provide expert technical advice Strong communication skills, able to interface effectively with global teams and customers Self-driven and highly organized, with excellent time management, prioritization and follow-up skills Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support customer engagements and events Fluent in English; proficiency in another European or Asian language is a plus
Preferred Qualifications ("Bonus Points")
Experience with Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) such as GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, or Galileo Skills in embedded software debugging and experience in development Programming proficiency in C, C++, Python Background in hardware design (analog, RF, digital) Perks We offer a challenging position within an international work environment.
