Position Overview
The Lead Health Systems Integrations Manager supports O-US healthcare organizations in integrating their electronic health and medical records (EMR/HER) systems with Abbott Cancer Diagnostics platforms and workflows. Working directly with hospitals, laboratories, and healthcare IT teams, this role helps establish clinical workflows, streamline data exchange, and support operational goals.
The holder of the role as a key liaison between external healthcare partners and internal Abbott Cancer Diagnostics teams, exchanging on initial implementation topics with customers while also while translating customer systems, workflows, and implementation needs for internal stakeholders. In doing so, the Lead Health Systems Integrations Manager partners closely with colleagues from across Abbott IT Product and Engineering teams as well as Laboratory Operations, Medical Affairs, and Commercial to deliver customer integration initiatives and support ongoing relationship management.
The Lead Health Systems Integrations Manager applies their experience with healthcare technology systems (e.g. Dedalus, Cerner, Epic etc.) and knowledge of the healthcare sector to ensure right-sized and customer-centric solutions, all while maintaining compliance with functional and company policies and protocols.
Essential Duties
Include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for healthcare organizations and technology partners, helping identify, promote, and support digital health (EMR/HER) integration opportunities and initiatives.
- Partner with account managers, commercial, and marketing teams as a technical subject matter resource in the application and implementation of digital health initiatives.
- Work with our customers (healthcare provider IT, informatics, and operational teams) to support connections between customer systems and Abbott Cancer Diagnostics platforms.
- Lead discussions with customers regarding integration capabilities, workflows, technical requirements, and implementation planning.
- Represent the voice of the customer and help internal teams gain understanding of customer technical environments, operational workflows, and integration needs.
- Support onboarding and relationship management activities involving Epic, Cerner, Dedalus, and other healthcare technology platforms.
- Provide guidance on healthcare data exchange and integration approaches, including HL7, FHIR, APIs, and laboratory orders/results workflows in the context of the customer.
- Coordinate cross-functional internal teams to support customer implementations.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, simplify connectivity, and enhance customer experience.
- Assist with troubleshooting, issue resolution, and coordination during implementation and post-implementation activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external healthcare IT leaders, informatics teams, laboratory leadership, and operational stakeholders.
- Support creation of customer-facing materials, workflow documentation, and other guidance resources.
- Stay informed on healthcare technology trends, EMR capabilities, and evolving integration approaches within the healthcare, diagnostics, life sciences, and health informatics sectors.
- Deliver regular updates to IT and business leadership as well as other internal stakeholders regarding customer integration activities and strategic opportunities.

- Ability to spend <30% of working time away from work location (including overnight/weekend travel).
Minimum Qualifications
- Fluency in the English language (C1 level or above per CEFR framework) and ability to communicate in English on technical topics.
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, information technology, health informatics, or related field.
- 8 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties.
- 4 years of experience in healthcare technology, digital health, health informatics, or related roles.
- Working knowledge of Cerner and/or Epic EHR systems.
- Familiarity with healthcare integration standards such as HL7, FHIR, APIs, and laboratory workflows.
- Significant demonstrable experience working with healthcare organizations, hospital IT teams, laboratories, or healthcare technology vendors.
- Working knowledge of privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR, APPI, PIPEDA) and health data regulations (e.g. HITECH, HDS) in the context of digital health services.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex customer relationships and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Authorization to work in Switzerland without visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting EMR/EHR integrations or similar healthcare technology implementations.
- Familiarity with additional EHR platforms such as Dedalus, Meditech, or Athenahealth.
- Understanding of laboratory workflows and healthcare operational processes.
- Familiarity with the forthcoming European Health Data Space (EHDS) and broader healthcare interoperability, data exchange, and regulatory initiatives across healthcare globally.
- Experience in working in a global company with business users located across multiple time zones.
- Experience in molecular biology, genomics, translational science, and/or personalized medicine.
- Superior technical communication skills.
- Knowledge of other European languages (French, German, Italian, Polish, Spanish) and/or Japanese.
