What works well?

SCIERIE ZAHND SA does not offer high salaries, little possibility of working at home and does not have a table football in an open space. But since the 2000s, the number of employees has risen from 28 to over 50 and the average age of seniority in the company is over 12 years! The SME, which is located in the commune of Rueyres, in the canton of Vaud, has a number of sawyers of course, but also an accounting, ordering, purchasing, transport organisation, administrative and human resources department, located in brand new offices in the heart of the sawmill. The company applies wage parity and the minimum wage is CHF 4,000 over 13 months. Overtime is paid at a premium or compensated in equivalent time off, and all employees have 5 weeks vacation when the law and the collective agreement for the sector stipulate 4 weeks.
