hepia

With its six faculties and 27 schools of higher education located in 5 campuses (Geneva, Vaud, Fribourg, Valais and Neuchatel), the University of Applied Sciences - Western Switzerland (HES-SO) is the largest UAS in Switzerland (22'000 students). The main missions of HES-SO are (i) to provide applied professional science-based education and (ii) to carry out applied R&D activities in partnership with industry.

hepia is one of the 6 schools of HES-SO Geneva-campus. hepia includes four research institutes. One of them, the Computer Science and Telecommunications Institute (inIT), is specialised in "data sciences & computational intelligence", "Communicating, Reconfigurable, Embedded Systems" and, "Networking, trust, privacy & security".

The large scale distributed systems (LSDS: lsds.hesge.ch) is one of the research groups of inIT. The group is involved in several projects related to Cloud, edge and IoT: ClimatCity (http://www.climacity.org/), Venus-C, CleanCity, SwissACC, CiTATiON, CHOICE, SlipStream, PAChA, iCeBOUND, e-SCT, EnhanceR and Smart-Meter.
