​​The Head of Logistics BioAtrium is responsible for overseeing the entire Logistics and Waste operations of our Biologics production facility. The Head of Logistics BioAtrium will ensure efficient movement and storage of raw materials, finished goods, equipment, and other supplies, while adhering to industry-leading standards of safety, quality, and compliance.​ 

Key responsibilities: 

  • ​​Responsible for the leadership, development and coaching of Team Members within dedicated Logistics Area 

  • ​Responsible for all Logistics and Waste processes within the dedicated area. Ensures that all processes are carried out in accordance with current regulatory requirements (GMP/GDP, safety, etc.) 

  • ​Acquiring a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements. Expanding the relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives 

  • ​Ensures that processes are standardized as far as possible and continuously optimized 

  • ​Ensures communication, exchange and support with other plant logistics areas 

  • ​Ensures that BioAtrium Logistics is represented in associated projects 

  • ​Implements the LONZA culture via openness for change and new ideas, cooperative teamwork and continuous improvement even outside his/her own area of responsibility. Implements a vision as service provider in his/her organization​ 

Key requirements: 

  • A minimum of a Bachelor`s / graduate degree in Logistics Management, Supply Chain or equivalent is required  

  • Further qualification / post-graduate in Warehousing, Logistics, Supply Chain or Operations would be strongly preferred 

  • Training in Lean, Process Excellence, Six Sigma etc. is preferred  

  • Proven track record in operations leadership within a multinational organization  

  • Advanced years of experience in leading Logistics / Production Supply or Supply Chain position in Biopharma 

  • Strong people leadership and interpersonal skills  

  • The ability to support, develop and execute strategic plans for logistics and supply chain management that align with the overall goals and objectives of the organization 

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex logistical challenges and implement effective solutions 

  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal departments, external customers, and stakeholders.  

  • Knowledge of local and international regulations governing GMP/GDP, transportation and logistics, and the ability to ensure compliance with these regulations 

  • Proven ability to manage logistics budgets effectively and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising operational efficiency. 

  • A commitment to continuous improvement, with a focus on optimizing logistics processes, reducing lead times, and enhancing overall efficiency.
