As a Product Engineer, you are responsible to oversee the entire product lifecycle of a family of high voltage products, from conception to delivery. This position works closely with product managers, product designers, and other stakeholders to translate customer needs and market trends into actionable product requirements.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Lead and actively participate in the product development process, from conceptualization to production. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and specifications, while respecting the product's cost objectives.
• Apply advanced engineering principles, techniques, and best practices to solve complex technical challenges. Ensure that products meet quality and performance standards.
• Develop and evaluate product prototypes, conducting rigorous testing and analysis to identify and address potential design flaws or improvements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the product development cycle. Implement best practices to enhance product quality and reduce time-to-market.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, utilizing a systematic approach to troubleshoot problems and implement effective solutions.
• Take charge of project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure on-time and on-budget project delivery.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of product designs, test results, and project progress, ensuring a clear and organized record of the development process.
• Develop and maintain external partnerships (schools, research institutes, customers, suppliers, etc.).
• Report all program related issues and updates to their manager.

The Product Engineer may be requested to travel (international and domestic) for customer’s technical support.

Profil

• Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a similar field
• 3 years’ experience in a relevant Engineering position
• Fluent in French and English, German a plus
• Experience in High or Medium Voltage, in particular design of HV/MV electrical components and knowledge of HV electrical measurements and safety rules a plus
• CAD, Electrical and physical simulation (Solidworks, COMSOL, LT Spice) an asset
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
