The Group Engine Management (GEM) is responsible for all 3rd party MRO services on the engines for all Lufthansa Group Airlines (LHG). It has the commercial responsibility for the operational business to ensure the LHG airlines obtain best value for money at the defined level of quality.

As MRO Procurement Manager - Engines, you will be working in a team with other MRO Service Procurement Managers, each being responsible for a dedicated Engine type and supplier management of their assigned MRO service portfolio for all Lufthansa Group Airlines.

  • Be responsible for discovering profitable suppliers and joint contract execution
  • Overlook key functional KPIs to reduce costs and improve effectiveness for assigned engine category
  • Leading complex MRO engine contract negotiations for and on behalf of LHG together with the respective engine stream
  • Owning the risk management process for supply contracts and agreements
  • Act as a lead supplier manager for Engine OEMs and MROs on behalf of the Lufthansa Group

  • At least 10 years of experience in a technical division in the aviation sector (maintenance organization of an airline or MRO) and in sourcing and managing MRO Services
  • Outstanding knowledge, background and appropriate experience related to highly complex contract management and contract negotiations
  • Highly experienced in business development, risk & relationship management
  • Profound knowledge of financial effect on the business value chain
  • Experience in working in a matrix as well as in a high intercultural competence function
  • Outstanding negotiation and problem solving skills with a deep understanding of the MRO market and its business processes
  • High level of independence and self-motivated working methods including hybrid working
