Part of Leonardo (through its Helicopter division), Kopter is set to become a Centre of Excellence for new light helicopters and an incubator of new technologies; also contributing to the development of new hybrid and electrical propulsion systems. The single-engine, turbine-powered SH09 now under development will outperform its peers with increased modularity, modern electronic systems, and a larger cabin and cargo hold. The SH09 delivers latest safety standards, more performance and comfort at low operating costs. Kopter’s 320 talented team members are primarily based near Zurich, Switzerland – with corporate/engineering offices at Wetzikon, and the production facilities in the towns of Mollis and Näfels.
The Project Engineer is responsible for:
►the definition of product level requirements within the design organisation
►the coordination and the management of all technical initiatives for the aircraft system, from concept design through production and entry into service.
►for the end-end technical oversight of a program.
The Project Engineer:
►Provides guidance and support to a team of engineering professionals.
►Develops and performs overall technical planning and provide airworthiness verification support, i.e. management of design and/or technical airworthiness reviews
►Helps to resolve technical problems that would affect cost, schedule and aircraft system performance
►Works closely with engineering technical areas and other subject matter experts for the review and approval of engineering design solutions.
►Provides coordination across the multi-disciplinary team.
►Supports the development of technical and product roadmaps
►Manages proto-type configuration choices and implementation /embodiment.
The Project Engineer:
►is a technically strong engineer with strong organisational and coordination skills and the capability to support a cross-functional team.
►combines a broad knowledge of certification skills, engineering principles, manufacturing techniques and analytical skills to certify products which meet or exceed specifications and requirements.
►Is able to coordinate technical requirements internally and with customers, suppliers and authorities.
►has a strong initiative to coordinate to work through technical, cost and schedule issues
►is able to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision
►has expertise in developing rotary or fixed wing aircrafts
►has strong written and verbal communication skills
►negotiation or influencing skills
3-5 years of work experience in the following fields:
►Expertise in developing rotary or fixed wing aircrafts essential
►Electronic Hardware & Software Development
►EASA Part-21J knowledge essential
►CS 27/29 or CS25 knowledge essential
►Aircraft and component testing
►Aircraft qualification and certification
►Aircraft in-service experience
►English – verbal and written at B2 level
►Previous international work environment experience an asset
