A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Prof. Petr Broz in the Department of Immunobiology, University of Lausanne, Switzerland. The Broz lab investigates the innate immune signaling pathways that allows cells to detect and respond to infections with pathogenic microorganisms. A particular focus of the lab is the inflammasome, a multi protein signaling platform that is assembled by pattern recognition receptors upon detection of pathogen- or host-derived danger signals, and which controls the release of cytokines and the induction of pyroptosis, a lytic for of cell death.

Contract length : 1 year, renewable 2 x 2 years, maximum 5 years

We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to study inflammasome-dependent host defenses against bacterial and viral pathogens in intestinal organoid and/or in vivo models.
The candidate must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D. degree. The ideal candidate will be independent, innovative, and interactive, with a scientific background in immunology, inflammasome signaling or host pathogen interaction. Previous experience with organoid model systems or transgenic animal models is preferred.
