A reputable Sport company, based in Romandie, is now looking to hire an IP & Commercial Legal Counsel. A bilingual (French/English) lawyer is sought for this exciting position. About the IP & Commercial Legal Counsel (H/F)
Reporting to the Head of Legal (Commercial), the IP & Commercial Legal Counsel manages the Company's trademarks, domain name, patent and other IP activities, assists in drafting and negotiating the company's commercial contracts and supports the business-related activities of the company. She/he has a strong command of the mechanisms of French law, as well as the laws of Switzerland, England & Wales or another relevant jurisdiction.
Implementing and maintaining the Company's strategy for intellectual property, including trademarks, patents and domain names in cooperation with external counsel.
Coordination of the strategy for the registration and protection of trademark portfolios with the different Company partners.
Day-to-day management of the activities required to manage the portfolio.
Follow-up of pre-litigation and litigation in relation to IP matters in cooperation with external counsel.
Coordination, management and follow-up of the different licensing programmes for intellectual property assets.
Drafting in English and French in liaison with the department(s) concerned, according to business requirements, including agreements relating to licensing, sponsorship, grants, communications, consultancy, purchasing, general conditions, loans and promotion.
Revising, updating and/or drafting template agreements to ensure such agreements remain in line with the evolution of Company activities, internal policies and good practice
Monitoring the media and keeping abreast of legal developments in the areas related to the Company's activities, including intellectual property, sports law, new technologies, competition law
Management, filing, retrieval and archiving of contracts and other documentation.
Drafting, amending and formatting contracts, minutes, memoranda, notes and other document
Minimum 6 years of experience in a similar position, notably in relation to trademark and IP issues
Experience in the field of sports or entertainment is highly preferred.
Excellent drafting skills in French and English and excellent written and spoken expression.
Good interpersonal, negotiation and organisation skillsExperience of contract management/legal processing software preferred.
