Leaders in their field and global in their approach across the financial services, fiduciary and family office services, as well as tax, estate planning and legal.

Position:

Based in Neuchatel, as an Associate you will be joining the Client Accounting team. Your role, and that of the team, is in essence preparing financial information and reports under the supervision of the Head of Client Accounting and the Director/Managers of Group Operations. Close liaison with various internal/external stakeholders, as well as regular interaction with the rest of the Group, to include Management, the operations and investment support teams. This is a hybrid role with 3 days in the office, 2 from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completing the financial recording of transactions within wealth management structures, including companies, trusts and assets held in person
  • The preparation of financial reports including financial statements, investment reporting, management reporting, tax reporting and other financial analyses within strict deadlines
  • Ensuring transactions are recorded following the minutes and agreements signed by Trustees/Directors
  • Arranging payments with straight through processing of accounting treatment as well as the following up on the execution of the transaction
  • Ensuring that all accounting ledgers are up to date by reconciling investment, bank and loan accounts
  • Reviewing the automated entries on our core bank accounts and ensuring the accounting is correct and clearing any rejected entries on a weekly basis.
  • Work with the accountants in the team to ensure that the internal processes and standards are followed
  • To assist in the setting up of internal processes, standards and workflows
  • Administration (follow up, filing, etc. as appropriate)

Profile:

  • Degree educated for this junior/mid-level Associate post
  • Around 3-5 years' experience from financial services, family office, trust company, fiduciary or equivalent as a junior accountant (classic career path) or Big 4 experience
  • Diplôme de l'Ecole de Commerce, CFC d'employé de commerce or equivalent - HEG/Bachelor a plus
  • Fluent English at business level (minimum B2/C1) ; some French a nice to have
  • Able to do accruals and good knowledge and understanding of multi-currency accounting, as well as investment and treasury products + year-end process
  • A switched-on, sharp analytical mind, good numeracy skills and a strong commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability and maturity to deal effectively with all levels of staff and management within the Group, third party service providers such as asset managers and tax consultants, and with high powered (often demanding) private clients
  • Accounting knowledge including IFRS and IFRS for SMEs, FRS 102, investment accounting, asset valuation, understanding and interpreting financial statements would be a strong advantage
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook and modern financial accounting packages)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, a high level of motivation and flexibility
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities efficiently in a demanding environment
  • A strong client care / service orientation, able to deal with responsibly and with confidential information
  • Committed to a job based in Neuchatel and living close by or within realistic commuting distance
  • Swiss work permit or equivalent (EU/EFTA/Swiss nationality or family "regroupement" entitlement, due to Swiss work permit regulations)
