What I do

Analysis and strategic planning:
  • Analyze sales results and identify strengths, gaps and opportunities in the region
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts and maintain awareness of new products and competition status
  • Design and implement strategic business plans that expands Baumer's customer base and grow its existing accounts in the region.
  • Define and optimize sales territories
  • For each sales territory within the region, provide sales force guidance by helping to identify which accounts are most promising to target
  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for the region and territories.  
  • Provide periodic reports on sales performance  
  • Ensure development and maintenance of account plans for selected accounts

Sales team development and management:
  • Develop the sales team; recruit top talent and efficiently onboard and ramp up new sales hires
  • Ensures the sales team follows the “value selling process”
  • Achieve growth by managing, developing, coaching and motivating the sales team to grow the regional business and to ensure that a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained
  • Ensure discipline in reporting and account maintenance in CRM
  • Provide on-the-ground support for field sales engineers as they generate leads and close new opportunities
  • Act as a liaison between the field team and supporting functions internally as necessary, namely when special pricing is required from corporate business units
  • Understand sales expenses and monitor monthly

Support marketing with the preparation of tradeshows and/or attending tradeshows:
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by reviewing relevant professional publications, establishing personal networks and attending industry conferences

Other:
  • Maintain a deep understanding of accounts in the region with the ability to give high level or deep status updates at a moment's notice (i.e. opportunity, risks, actions, help needed)
  • Manage local channel partners
  • Assists Product Marketing with the successful introduction of new products.
  • Effectively communicate customer's needs to Product Marketing Management for future product enhancements
  • Collect and document competitive intelligence (pricing, product features, market policies, selling techniques, etc.)

What I need for it

  • 4 years degree (engineering / technical degree preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in outside technical sales or relevant professional experience
  • 5+ year of experience in management of a sales team


Other:
  • Experience with B2B and OEM selling
  • Knowledge of the industrial market(s) including factory automation
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to building automation systems
  • Working knowledge of online sales tools (i.e. Sales Navigator, Zoominfo)
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications (i.e. PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Power BI)
  • Working experience in CRM (preferably SAP)
  • Willingness to travel domestically (35% +)
