About the job
Shape the future with us as
Your contribution to our team
You bring your geoinformation and data expertise to solve socially relevant issues for our clients. Your tasks include, among others: preparing, transforming, and merging data sets from different data sources, designing, executing, and automating analysis workflows, as well as creating visualizations and cartographic products. Additionally, you can advise clients on conceptual and strategic questions related to data and geoinformation.
We give you a lot of freedom in handling your tasks and are open to your innovative ideas. You work interdisciplinarily with other specialists at EBP. You maintain personal contact with our clients and sometimes work on-site with them. With us, you have the opportunity to take on responsibility in various roles and to participate in a project from acquisition through concept to implementation and commissioning. You stay up to date and are open to learning different technologies. You move fluidly between different tasks from conception through analysis and communication of results to project management.
Your skills
- You have a BSc or MSc university degree (ETH, university, or university of applied sciences) with a scientific or technical focus.
- You have very good knowledge of GIS and geoinformation in the Swiss context, ideally complemented by applied knowledge in data engineering (including data modeling) and data science (including machine learning).
- You already have practical experience outside of your studies and a good overview of the above-mentioned topics.
- You have very good knowledge of desktop GIS software such as QGIS or Esri ArcGIS Pro.
- You have very good skills in Python and SQL (and possibly R) for automated preparation, analysis, and visualization of spatial or non-spatial data. Ideally, you have knowledge of relevant data engineering and data science tools and frameworks (e.g., dbt, FME, Hop, Power BI, Polars, Geopandas, arcpy, PyQGIS, PyTorch, Keras, etc.).
- You enjoy both technical work with data and working with people, for example in advising clients and interdisciplinary collaboration with experts from other EBP fields.
- You speak fluent German and good English.
- We promote professional and personal development through intensive exchange, courses, and lectures.
- You will find great scope for initiative and development with us.
- We offer flexible working models with annual working hours.
