Head Nurse of a Care Unit (ICUS) in Pediatric Oncology
The Pediatric Oncology and Hematology Unit of the CHUV is looking for a Head Nurse of a Care Unit at 70%, in job-sharing.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. In collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in care, research, and education.
The Women-Mother-Child Department (DFME) brings together the Gynecology, Obstetrics, Neonatology, Pediatrics, and Pediatric Surgery Services. More than 1,500 professionals work daily to care for women and children from birth to adolescence.
The Pediatric Oncology Unit cares for children and adolescents with a comprehensive approach, in outpatient, day hospital, and inpatient settings. Care is patient- and family-centered, within an interdisciplinary and humane framework.
Mission
Under the delegation of the Head Nurse of the service, you supervise the care team. Your main tasks are as follows:
- You ensure efficient and safe patient care
- You manage and organize the team in coordination with proximity managers and interprofessional partners
- You participate in service management alongside your hierarchy and in collaboration with other ICUS
- You supervise training, teaching, and nursing research activities
- You ensure the link between the unit and the service management, promoting constructive communication.
Profile
- You hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or an equivalent recognized qualification with Red Cross recognition (mandatory)
- Ideally, you have a CAS or DAS in oncology and palliative care
- You have proven experience in management and organization of care
- You have extensive clinical experience in pediatric oncology
- A diploma or certificate in health institution management is an asset
- You possess organizational skills, leadership, and strong planning ability
- You demonstrate rigor, initiative, creativity, and excellent listening and communication skills
- You know how to maintain a climate of trust, even in emergency or high-stress situations
- You master office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of institutional software is an advantage.
Depending on your profile, the salary class is between levels 10 and 11.
