In vein biometrics, identity recognition is done via the palm, more precisely via the vein pattern and blood flow. These remain the same or clearly identifiable from early childhood to death. Using an infrared scanner and an integrated wide-angle camera, the system captures the vein structure and thus the unique identity of a registered person within milliseconds.

In 2011, Frank Türen AG realised the first fire protection tested doors with integrated hand vein readers in collaboration with IT and software specialists. Today, this technology application is patented and so advanced that residential and office or administrative buildings can be consistently equipped with palm vein biometrics.

Vein recognition sensor

The hand vein reader (sensor) is so small that it fits into a small sensor housing or in the door itself. This compact and discreet solution is suitable for residential and commercial buildings alike. Authorised persons enjoy comfortable, keyless access, and the loss of a key, badge or password or a malfunction of the transponder belongs to the past. Individual doors and rooms can also be controlled via stored schedules with an additional security matrix.
