About the job
Head of the Energy and Environment Service
- SENE71
- The SENE promotes energy efficiency and renewable energies. It protects the waters, soil and air of the canton of Neuchâtel and its population against various nuisances and monitors waste management and recovery. Finally, it advises and provides technical support to professionals and the public.
Reporting directly to the head of the Department of Territorial Development and Environment (DDTE), you lead the SENE. You ensure its proper management in terms of human resources, finance, communication and administration, while guaranteeing the fulfilment of your assigned missions.
You are responsible for the application of federal energy and environmental policies at the cantonal level as well as the implementation of cantonal policies in this area. As such, you apply the necessary measures to achieve the entity’s objectives and develop strategic directions in cooperation with the department and federal, cantonal, communal and private stakeholders.
You guide public action in terms of energy and environmental policy, within the framework of sustainable development. At the same time, you represent the canton with numerous external partners (Confederation, cantons, communes, private sector, etc.) and internal partners (departments, central services, etc.) with whom you ensure quality relationships.
In a sensitive political and economic environment, constantly and rapidly evolving, you work closely with the head of the department, state services and partner entities, while maintaining an extensive network of relationships with federal, inter-cantonal and communal structures.
Holder of a master’s degree (University or University of Applied Sciences), ideally complemented by additional training in public management, you have solid professional and managerial experience gained in a leadership role within a public or private organisation.
You are driven by the desire to commit yourself with determination to the canton of Neuchâtel, its energy policy and its natural spaces.
Endowed with an analytical mind and a vision that allow you to grasp the strategic, societal and political challenges of a changing environment, you also possess the skills to supervise or lead important projects. Your human qualities, your power of persuasion and your communication skills enable you to develop positive relationships, both with your team and with your institutional and private partners.
This position is open following the retirement of the current holder.
