Vocational Inspector 80%FLEXIBLE, COMPETENT, SERVICE-ORIENTED
The Secondary School and Vocational Training Office of the Canton of Zurich works closely with training companies, vocational schools, labour market organisations, as well as cantonal and national committees for vocational education. The Department of Workplace Training supervises education in professional practice and in inter-company courses, monitors their quality, and advises the parties to training contracts.
From 1 October 2026 or by arrangement, we are looking for a vocational inspector at 80%.
Your area of responsibility
As a vocational inspector, you support and accompany companies and apprentices in various professional fields. You issue training permits and collaborate with the commissions of inter-company courses, examination boards, vocational schools, and professional associations. Your expertise is also sought in participation in cantonal and inter-cantonal working groups as well as as a speaker in courses for vocational trainers. Contact with various committees, institutions, offices, and specialists, and involvement in cross-occupational and cross-industry topics enrich your area of responsibility.
Your profile
We are looking for an independent personality with solid, long-standing professional experience. You have a qualification in higher vocational education and several years of experience in training apprentices, preferably in the hospitality and catering sector. You have a quick grasp and are able to network knowledge and experience and apply different problem-solving strategies. You enjoy working independently but also value and maintain teamwork. You are communicative, persuasive, and assertive. You have already demonstrated your performance in a similar role.
