About the job
The Judicial Commission of the Cantonal Council is looking for
a full-time member for the High Court (Greens) 100%
from 30 April 2027 for the remainder of the term 2025-2031
The High Court of the Canton of Zurich is the appellate court in civil and criminal matters. It is affiliated with the Commercial Court, which deals with commercial court proceedings as the first instance. Furthermore, the High Court is responsible for the independent judicial administration of the Zurich civil and criminal courts and the notarial system.
Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of substantive civil and criminal law as well as civil and criminal procedural law
- Several years of experience at a court
- Familiarity and confident handling of legal issues and problem-solving
- Ability to engage deeply with difficult legal questions and complex facts, as well as the ability to reduce these to the essentials and present them clearly
- Negotiation skills, confident demeanour, social competence, assertiveness and decisiveness
- Commitment, perseverance and resilience
- Communication and teamwork skills
- Voting rights in the Canton of Zurich, age under 65 at the start of office
- Impeccable reputation
The seat is claimed by the Green faction.
The salary is based on the Cantonal Council's decision on the determination of the remuneration of the members of the High Court dated 22 April 1991 (LS 212.53).
