As part of the optimization of operating rooms, the HUG is creating an executive management of operating rooms (DBO) directly attached to the Deputy General Management.
This new centralized structure is entirely dedicated to the management of operating rooms with the goal of strengthening governance, interprofessional synergies, optimizing patient care and processes, while supporting innovation and research.
The operating rooms consist of 8 modern operating blocks equipped with a state-of-the-art technical platform representing nearly 30 intervention rooms. Designed to provide optimal patient care 24 hours a day. Each year, more than 30,000 interventions are performed by 1,500 dedicated professionals. These specialists cover all surgical disciplines, such as gynecology-obstetrics, ENT, maxillofacial, aesthetic, reconstructive, cardiac, vascular, visceral, urological, orthopedic, trauma, hand, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, and pediatric surgery, including robotic surgery.
Job Description
As part of the creation of the Operating Room Management, you ensure the regulation and coordination of surgical activities. You schedule interventions with medical and nursing teams, coordinate flows (patients, professionals, instruments, premises) and adapt the surgical program in real time in case of contingencies. You communicate effectively with all operating room stakeholders and ensure traceability of information.
You validate the daily surgical program, monitor the progress of interventions, reassign rooms if necessary, and participate in weekly coordination meetings. You analyze activity data, monitor performance indicators, and write monthly reports to improve efficiency and organizational quality.
You contribute to smooth coordination between operating rooms, anticipate needs, optimize resource use, and ensure coherence of the patient pathway. You participate in programming and steering meetings, while working closely with department heads and the Operating Room Management.
Qualifications
You hold a recognized specialist medical diploma in Switzerland complemented by an ISFM title, ideally in a discipline involved in operating rooms or an equivalent title. You hold a position as assistant physician or are eligible for this position. Training or experience in management is an asset.
You master planning and clinical documentation tools as well as organizational principles of operating rooms.
You demonstrate strong leadership, sharp decision-making skills, and smooth, diplomatic communication. You show listening, negotiation, and mediation skills, while managing stress with resilience and kindness.
