To strengthen our Research & Innovation team dedicated to In Product Marking Solutions, we are looking for a: CHEMIST
ROLE
SICPA is developing advanced fuel marking technologies combining molecular markers with a sophisticated IT platform helping governments and companies to fully track, trace and monitor the distribution of hydrocarbon products and to quickly detect illicit activities through the most advanced security technologies.
The Chemist will contribute to new technology identification and the development of proof of concepts for new products including:
• Planning, organizing, performing and analyzing experimental work
• Literature monitoring, IP, and competitors technology monitoring
• Documenting, presenting and discussing results autonomously
• Collaborating with adjacent groups within R&D
• Collaborating with external partners
• Contributing to the development of the in-product marking group
PROFILE
• Master’s degree in chemistry, physical chemistry, materials science or biochemistry (PhD is a plus)
• Experience in the design and optimization of chemical sensing systems and in particular with optical transducers
• Proven skills in molecular spectroscopy such as UV-Vis absorption and/or fluorescence as well as experimental design and mathematical and statistical tools for spectral analysis
• Strong knowledge in at least one of the following fields: switchable (photo)materials, low MW chemicals sensing, ligand receptor interactions, functionalized nanoparticles for sensing purposes, supramolecular self-assembly, functional organometallic compounds
• Curious, innovative, rigorous, problem solving oriented and a team player
• Fluent in English and French
