Job Description
The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Geneva benefits from an enriching multicultural dynamic to which it contributes through its influence within the mandates it has set itself: teaching, research and its partnership with the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG).
The flow cytometry platform of the Faculty of Medicine of Geneva offers a cutting-edge service ranging from cell sorting to personalised support for the setup and execution of cytometry experiments.
To strengthen its team, the flow cytometry platform is currently seeking a:
Laboratory Technician 2 at 50%
You will play a role in the smooth running of the platform by ensuring both the daily management of the devices as well as the logistical management of equipment, consumables and routine operations.
Your activities will notably include:
- Management and organisation of the laboratory (stocks, orders, equipment maintenance)
- Maintenance and quality control of flow cytometers.
- Interface with users of the flow cytometry service (academic, administrative and technical staff).
- Monitoring of cell sorting.
Required Title and Skills
- Federal Certificate of Capacity (CFC) as laboratory technician or equivalent qualification
- Previous experience in an academic or biomedical research laboratory desirable
- Ability to work independently, organised and rigorously
- Good sense of responsibility and initiative
- Aptitude to interact with a multidisciplinary team
Desired technical skills (important assets):
- Experience in flow cytometry
- Experience in laboratory management
- Experience in cell biology
