Tasks:
- psychological assessment and to guide patient care
- carry out psychological and/or psychotherapeutic support activities, where necessary in collaboration with doctors, nurses, educators, social workers and social assistants, for patients, following the therapeutic plan and implementing it within the scope of professional competences
- be responsible for drafting reports on cases followed or assessed
- ensure the updating of medical records and other recording and/or statistical tasks as required, as well as the correct completion of services and management of the billing process
- provide advice regarding specific competences, at public, semi-public and private entities, institutes and facilities after prior approval from the Head of the Psychology Service and/or the head of the team in which they are included
- update professional knowledge in compliance with federal and cantonal provisions for maintaining the specialty title. Additionally, responsible for training and supervising psychologists and psychotherapists in training and other staff
- participate in team meetings to ensure shared multidisciplinary care and work within common working groups contributing to the development of interprofessional / intersectoral / interdepartmental projects
- participate in initiatives related to mental health to develop new preventive or rehabilitative measures [and/or, with authorisation from Management, may conduct research activities]
Requirements:
- diploma or licence or bachelor+master in psychology obtained from a Swiss university or, if obtained from a foreign university, federal recognition of the diploma issued by the Commission of Psychological Professions PsiCo (pursuant to articles 2 and 3 of the Federal Law on Psychological Professions (LPPsi))
- authorisation in the Canton of Ticino to practise as a psychologist active in the healthcare sector (see details in special notes)
- authorisation in the Canton of Ticino to practise as a psychotherapist (see details in special notes)
- experience in the field of eating behaviour disorders (over 3 years) may be a preferential qualification
- ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, proactive attitude, adaptability, empathy and relational skills
- possess an adequate psycho-attitudinal profile for professional practice
- knowledge of the territory, social services and the social-health network of the Canton of Ticino
- perfect command of the Italian language and knowledge of another official language, spoken and written
- possess an adequate psycho-attitudinal profile for professional practice, specifically also an adequate capacity to provide support in severe crisis situations and mental health emergencies
Special notes:
- candidates with psychologist title:
- candidates with a psychologist title, with recognition issued by the Commission of Psychological Professions (PsiCo) in case of foreign titles but not yet in possession of authorisation in the Canton of Ticino to practise as a psychologist active in the healthcare sector, are granted 6 months from the appointment decision to obtain it
- candidates with a psychologist title obtained from a foreign university but not yet in possession of recognition from the Commission of Psychological Professions (PsiCo), are granted 6 months from the appointment decision to obtain it together with authorisation in the Canton of Ticino to practise as a psychologist active in the healthcare sector
- the actual start of activity of the chosen candidate is subject to obtaining authorisation in the Canton of Ticino to practise as a psychologist active in the healthcare sector. Failure to obtain the required qualifications within 6 months from the appointment decision will result in automatic forfeiture
- within 4 years from the start of activity, obtaining authorisation in the Canton of Ticino to practise as a psychotherapist is required. During this period, employment will be in the form of an assignment (articles 15 and 16 LORD) convertible into appointment upon obtaining authorisation in the Canton of Ticino to practise as a psychotherapist. Failure to obtain it will result in definitive termination of the employment relationship
- candidates with psychotherapist title:
- candidates with a psychotherapist title with recognition issued by the Commission of Psychological Professions (PsiCo) in case of foreign titles but not yet in possession of authorisation in the Canton of Ticino to practise as a psychotherapist, are granted 6 months from the appointment decision to obtain it

Employment conditions:
- appointment or assignment: as provided by the Law on the Organisation of State Employees and Teachers of 15 March 1995 (LORD) and the related Regulation. Any changes in law concerning salary and organisation are explicitly reserved
- working hours: 42 hours per week (for a 100% employment contract), flexible or according to service needs
