The Regional Library Wetzikon offers you an exciting apprenticeship as an Information Specialist with an additional internship opportunity in a scientific library and an archive, ideal for your successful start into professional life.

The Regional Library Wetzikon is a lively meeting place for people of all ages. With a versatile media offer, events and space to be, it accompanies the population in everyday life, leisure and learning. As an apprentice, you work right in the middle of the library routine and gain insights into the various areas of a modern public library. You can expect a media collection with around 30,000 media, from books and toys to games, Tonies and DVDs to objects and digital offers. This way you get to know the diversity of library and information work up close and become part of a committed team that promotes the joy of reading and discovery.

During your training you will take on varied and responsible tasks. You advise visitors in researching media and information, support the lending and return of media and help with the maintenance and organisation of the collection. In addition, you carry out administrative work on the computer, catalogue media and support and organise events. You work both independently and in a team and continuously develop your professional and personal skills. The combination of customer contact, different media work and various organisational tasks makes the training particularly exciting and versatile.

• Secondary school A with good grades, especially in language subjects
• Interest in media and information dissemination
• Good oral and written expression
• Sense of responsibility, willingness to learn and ability to work in a team
• Enjoyment in dealing with people as well as precise work
• Good accessibility of the Regional Library and the Zurich vocational school

The Regional Library Wetzikon offers you a solid I&D training in a motivating and supportive environment. We promote your independence and strengthen team spirit. You will be personally accompanied by our training manager and benefit from the experience of the whole team. In addition, you can expect 27 days of holiday per year, an annual apprentice excursion as well as cost contributions for teaching materials, language certificates and language stays.
