As a building services technician apprentice, you work in a company in the building technology sector, for example in the workshop, in heating and sanitary companies, in tinsmiths, ventilation companies, or in the warehouse. There you assist the installers in assembling building services systems such as heating or ventilation and air conditioning systems.Tasks (depending on the place of deployment)* You assist the installers in assembling building services systems: heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, sanitary installations, or tinsmith work, depending on the focus of your basic training.* In the workshop, you prepare the components and process materials made of metal and plastic. In heating and sanitary companies, you saw pipes to size. You cut threads and bend the pipes into the desired shape. In tinsmith and ventilation companies, you cut components from sheet metal and join them with a soldering iron or welding torch.* As a building services technician apprentice, you often also work in the warehouse. You assemble the materials and tools needed on the construction site. Or you put the materials returned from there back onto the shelves. With minor maintenance work, you ensure that the tools, devices, and machines are always ready for use.* On the construction site, building services technician apprentices assemble the systems together with their supervisors. You know the hazards on the construction site and protect yourself and your colleagues.
