Environmental Consultant – Experienced Project Manager in the Data Centres sector

Your new role
As part of the development of our activities in the Data Centres sector in particular, we are looking for an Environmental Consultant – Experienced Project Manager for a permanent full-time position to support our clients in delivering their industrial projects.
You will be based in Aix-en-Provence, Vaulx-en-Velin, Bordeaux or Paris.
Regular travel mainly within France is expected (valid driving licence B required).
This position is open to remote working.
Your main responsibilities will be as follows:
- Environmental assessment of greenfield sites or industrial brownfields for the implementation of new projects,
- Identification and analysis of applicable environmental and urban planning regulatory constraints and assistance in project design to take these various constraints into account,
- Preliminary feasibility studies regarding various environmental issues (e.g. water supply, energy management, natural and technological risks, modelling…),
- Assistance in preparing the files and studies required for obtaining environmental permits (ICPE files, impact studies...),
- Drafting commercial proposals and managing client relationships,
- Project management including mission planning, supervision and monitoring of the project team, and management of deliverables and deadlines for the client.
Within Ramboll France, the QHSE culture is a strong value: compliance with instructions and active participation in the QHSE improvement of the organisation are expected.
Your new team
You will be part of Ramboll France, the French entity of the Environment and Health division of the international engineering and consulting group Ramboll, which is located in Aix-en-Provence (head office), Paris, Lyon and Bordeaux and has more than 100 employees working in the fields of contaminated sites and soils, Due Diligence audits, EHS (Environment, Hygiene, Safety), international impact studies, air quality, climate change and industrial risk.
The Compliance, Strategy & Transaction (CST) team at Ramboll France currently consists of 25 people. It supports the development projects of French and international companies through Due Diligence or regulatory compliance audits, preparation of files for obtaining environmental permits, various HSE assistance services and expertise in industrial risks and hazardous phenomena modelling.
In this role, you will be able to collaborate with and rely on the full range of expertise present in other teams within Ramboll, for example in contaminated sites and soils management, air quality, energy and climate, biodiversity, noise, geotechnics or architecture.
About you
With an engineering degree or equivalent, you have at least 10 years of experience in the Data Centres, industry, energy sectors and/or in business consulting. We are primarily looking for a candidate with significant experience in the Data Centres sector.

- Expertise in environmental assessment and environmental risk management
- Ability to analyse and interpret multiple environmental data
- In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations
- Ability to conduct detailed environmental audits
- Geographical and spatial understanding of sites
- Aptitude for digital tools (GIS, AI, IGN tools…)
- Fluency in French and English enabling comprehension and drafting of technical documents and communication within Ramboll as well as with our international clients,
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary and international teams
- Personal skills/aptitudes such as oral and written communication, organisation, rigour, autonomy, initiative, synthesis and analysis, curiosity and eagerness to learn.
