Head of Elderly Care and Support

The Office of Health of the Department of Finance and Social Affairs (DFS) of the Canton of Thurgau handles a wide range of tasks in the field of healthcare. This includes the enforcement of the Health Act and tasks within the framework of health insurance legislation. We implement the health policy goals of the Canton of Thurgau and are a responsible partner in shaping integrated care.

Our team is looking for you, a committed individual, from May 1, 2026 or by arrangement, as

• Leading and further developing a team of three employees
• Responsibility for approval processes as well as supervision of nursing homes and Spitex organizations
• Implementation of the Thurgau Health Insurance Act in the field of care
• Translating national strategies into the cantonal context, developing, reviewing, and further developing cantonal measures
• Supporting future-oriented care provision and nursing home planning
• Contact person for Spitex organizations, nursing homes, and organizations in the field of elderly care

• Completed university degree in law, business administration, health economics, or comparable education and training
• Several years of professional experience in healthcare or social services is an advantage
• Strong understanding of structures and requirements in the health and elderly care sector with a high interest in healthcare provision and financing in nursing
• Solution-oriented working style as well as high communication and decision-making competence
• Ability to prepare and implement complex issues in a target group-oriented manner
