About the job
VF Corporation is looking for an exceptional Analyst, Central Costing to join our team based in Stabio, Switzerland.
Let’s talk about the role
The Central Costing Analyst plays a key role in supporting brand margin visibility through accurate, timely, and insightful costing analysis. The role is responsible for maintaining the costing database, collecting and validating costing inputs, and ensuring that Standard costs are correctly uploaded and maintained in SAP for the assigned brand(s).
Beyond data maintenance, the analyst supports seasonal cost and margin analysis across different levels of detail — from SKU level to product families and total collection level — helping Brand Management understand key cost drivers, margin evolution, and deviations from brand targets and long-range planning objectives.
The role contributes to identifying margin opportunities by analyzing the impact of product purchase cost changes, duty rates, allocation changes, sourcing assumptions, product mix, and other relevant cost drivers. This includes working closely with Sourcing, Brand Pricing, Planning, Customs, and Finance to ensure costing information is accurate, end-to-end consistent and business-relevant.
The analyst is also expected to support the application of AI-enabled costing models and tools to improve analysis, forecasting, reporting, and scenario evaluation.
How You Will Make a Difference
You will achieve this by:
- Support seasonal cost and margin analysis by providing accurate and timely costing data, identifying and explaining key cost drivers — including purchase cost changes, duty impact, allocation changes, and other relevant variances — to support business decisions during seasonal reviews, planning cycles, and ad hoc evaluations.
- Build, maintain, and leverage costing tools, BI dashboards, and AI-supported analytical models by brand and season, consolidating relevant product information from line lists and other source files to support accurate and scalable costing analysis.
- Collect and validate product purchase cost inputs, Country of Origin, and dual sourcing options where applicable, from the different Sourcing Hubs.
- Collect trade agreement information and prepare the relevant database to support duty rate assessment in cooperation with the Customs team.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of data required for Standard Cost upload into SAP.
- Execute and monitor Standard Cost uploads in SAP for all relevant product categories, ensuring they remain updated across brands, warehouses, sites, and stores.
- Work closely with Merchandising to collect the forecast and buy plan assumptions they provide, ensuring product mix inputs are properly reflected in seasonal costing and margin analysis.
- Work proactively with cross-functional stakeholders to clarify missing information, improve data quality, and ensure costing assumptions are aligned across functions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of costing processes, tools, databases, BI dashboards, and AI-supported analytical models, helping increase efficiency, transparency, and reliability across the end-to-end costing flow.
- AI-ENABLED FINANCE EXPECTATIONS: Routinely use AI-enabled tools to support analysis and reporting activities, in line with company guidelines and business needs; Apply sound professional judgment to review and challenge AI-generated outputs and leverage technology and AI-enabled tools to support speed, efficiency, and insight generation, while remaining accountable for analysis quality and providing reliable support to business decision-making.
