experienced financial professional with strong administrative skills to take on the role of
Director of Finance and HR Administration, ensuring robust financial management and fullcompliance with Swiss law, including the Swiss Code of Obligations.
Role Summary
Reporting directly to the School Director, the Director of Finance and HR Administration is
responsible for all aspects of the school’s financial strategy, management, and reporting. The
post holder also oversees HR administration, including contracts, payroll, and staff insurances.
This is a senior operational role requiring both strategic oversight and hands-on management of
day-to-day finance and compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities
Finance
• Lead all financial management, planning, and control functions for the school.
• Prepare, monitor, and manage the annual budget and rolling financial forecasts.
• Oversee accounting operations, including accounts receivable and payable, cash flow,
reconciliations, and monthly and annual financial statements.
• Ensure full compliance with Swiss accounting standards, tax regulations, and the Swiss
Code of Obligations.
• Supervise and support the Finance Officer to ensure timely invoicing, reporting, and
data accuracy.
• Liaise with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
• Prepare financial reports and analysis for the School Director and Dukes Education
Group.
• Manage procurement, supplier contracts, and financial aspects of capital projects.
• Maintain robust internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard financial
integrity.
HR Administration
• Manage payroll preparation and processing in compliance with Swiss law.
• Prepare and maintain employment contracts and personnel documentation.
• Oversee staff insurance administration (AVS, LAA, LPP, accident, sickness, etc.) and
ensure timely reporting.
• Maintain accurate and secure personnel records and ensure compliance with the Swiss
Code of Obligations.
• Support the School Director on HR compliance matters, including work permits and
employment law queries.
Profile of the Ideal Candidate
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (HR administration
experience an advantage).
• Proven experience in financial management in Switzerland, ideally in an educational or
international environment.
• Excellent knowledge of Swiss accounting standards, taxation, and financial compliance
under the Swiss Code of Obligations.
• Familiarity with Swiss employment law, payroll, and insurance administration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficient in Excel and financial/accounting software.
• Fluent in French with a good command of English (spoken and written).
• Reliable, discreet, and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
