About the job
NSF since 1988
History
Since 1806, Liechtenstein has been a sovereign principality and since the constitution of 1921 a constitutional hereditary monarchy based on a democratic-parliamentary system. This political stability is also the key to Liechtenstein's success, combining proven traditions with innovative ideas. Today, Liechtenstein is one of the most highly industrialised countries in the world. Furthermore, the country has modern legislation and a dynamic financial centre.
At the founding time of our company at the end of the 1980s, Liechtenstein was not yet a member of the European Economic Area (EEA) and was hardly integrated internationally. The world was at the end of the Cold War and beginning to reorganise itself. Liechtenstein also defined its role in this new world. In this historically unique environment, the experienced asset management expert Richard Negele and the lawyer lic.iur, lic.oec HSG Hugo Sele laid the foundation of NSF in 1988. Today, the partnership includes Dr Veit Frommelt and Dr Heinz Frommelt.
- The 1990s were to be decisive years for Liechtenstein's prosperity. The country consistently advanced its international integration by joining important international organisations such as the WTO, EFTA, the UN, and not least the probably most important step, joining the EEA in 1995. With EEA membership, opportunities arose for the country as well as for our company, which were decisively seized. A sustainable upswing of Liechtenstein as a highly diversified business location was the logical consequence. The financial services sector received EU-compliant legislation and benefited, as did the export-oriented industry, from easy access to the EU market. At the same time, more and more national and international companies recognised the attractiveness of Liechtenstein as a location. NSF has proven itself as a professional and reliable partner, possessing both international expert knowledge and being firmly rooted in Liechtenstein.
- The turn of the millennium brought further positive developments due to increasing internationalisation and the growing importance of European law. In 2009, the Liechtenstein Declaration, which recognises the OECD principles in the tax area, created additional new frameworks for the 21st century. Furthermore, tax law and foundation law were significantly revised by the legislator. The liberal economic environment and numerous bilateral agreements in the tax area today provide the basis for sustainable economic growth in Liechtenstein.
- In 2012, our firm opened a branch in Zurich to offer on-site solutions in the areas of tax criminal law, implementation of tax agreements, and asset structuring in a tax-compliant environment. This emphasises our company's growing importance of tax consultancy not only nationally but also and especially internationally.
- Since 2016, NSF Rechtsanwälte has existed as an independent Swiss partner firm in Zurich.
