Company description
With more than 13,000 employees representing 160 professions, the Geneva University Hospitals are a nationally and internationally recognised institution. To learn more about our institution, take a few minutes to consult our 2025 retrospective by clicking here.
The position is attached to the Department of Community and Primary Care Medicine (DMCPR). This department combines a societal mission aimed at enabling access to care for all and an academic mission aimed at providing pre- and postgraduate teaching and research in primary care medicine.
The Penitentiary Medicine Service (SMP) provides quality care to detainees in the prisons of the Republic and Canton of Geneva while applying medical law and professional ethics rules. It develops prevention and health promotion actions in the prison environment. Training and teaching concerning health aspects in the penitentiary environment, medical law and ethics, as well as research and improvement of knowledge in the field, are under its responsibility. Within the SMP, the UPP's mission is to offer mental health care to detainees in all structures served by the Penitentiary Medicine Service, except for the Hospital Cell Unit (UCH). Care is provided on an outpatient basis across all sites to all detainees in pre-trial detention, serving sentences or penal measures. Therapeutic follow-ups are thus carried out on a voluntary basis or under judicial mandate. The UPP is ISFM certified as a postgraduate training centre in psychotherapy.

You must comply with institutional directives for all matters related to the cases followed and the recording of your services.
Qualifications
You hold a Master’s degree in psychology. You are currently undertaking a postgraduate MAS training in behavioural and cognitive psychotherapy or have been accepted to start it in 2026 and wish to gain clinical experience in a specialised service for the care of patients in the penitentiary environment.
You are able to cope with stress and have good skills to work in a multidisciplinary team.
You are motivated and committed in your professional activities and demonstrate good adaptability skills in dealing with various follow-ups.
