Azure Cloud & Infrastructure Expert

Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Azure Cloud & Infrastructure Expert to strengthen our team at our office in Bern. We seek someone with solid DevOps knowledge and extensive expertise in both Windows Server and Linux environments. The ideal candidate is responsible for designing, implementing, and operating secure, scalable, and highly available Azure and hybrid cloud infrastructure solutions.

This position requires a hands-on infrastructure specialist who combines profound Azure know-how with strong skills in system administration, automation, and operational management. You will work closely with customers, architects, and operations teams to modernise existing infrastructures, increase reliability, and drive cloud transformation.

Your Responsibilities

• Design, implementation, and operation of Azure and hybrid cloud infrastructure solutions
• Management and optimisation of core Azure services in networking, compute, storage, identity, and security
• Development and enhancement of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using industry-standard tools
• Development and operation of CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure and application deployments
• Administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Windows Server and Linux environments
• Implementation of monitoring, logging, backup, and disaster recovery solutions
• Ensuring security, compliance, performance, and availability of the infrastructure
• Support in incident management, conducting root cause analyses, and continuous optimisation of operational processes
• Participation in architecture designs and technical decisions
• Coaching and support of junior engineers as well as promoting infrastructure and DevOps best practices

Your Profile

• Completed university/ETH/FH degree or equivalent professional experience
• Several years of practical experience with Microsoft Azure in enterprise environments
• Solid knowledge of Azure networking, identity, storage, compute, and security services
• Proven experience in operating hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructures
• Excellent knowledge in Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related technologies
• Extensive experience in Linux administration
• Comprehensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Experience in building and operating CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or comparable platforms
• Very good scripting and automation skills with PowerShell and/or Bash
• Experience with Git and modern DevOps methods
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Good knowledge of networking, IT security, governance, and operational processes
• Fluent in Swiss German and English; French is an advantage.

Desirable Qualifications

• Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-700, or DevOps Engineer Expert
• Experience in enterprise migration and modernisation projects
