gibb is a vocational school of the Canton of Bern. We teach around 7,000 young people in more than 60 commercial-industrial professions and provide part-time higher vocational education (HBB) to about 800 professionals. Around 1,000 learners attend the vocational baccalaureate school (BMS) in the part-time BM 1 or BM 2 in various specialisations. The DMG department offers the vocational school for EFZ basic training as well as further training in the professions of service, mobility and gastronomy. As of 01.02.2027 (earlier if possible), we are looking for a member of the school management as:

Tasks

As head of the DMG department, a varied and exciting role awaits you. Together with your team, you are responsible for 8 professional groups with even more professions. Your communication skills are in demand: internally, you communicate with teachers, lecturers and staff. You maintain exchanges with learners, students and training companies and utilise synergies with the other departments of gibb. Collaboration with labour market organisations, the Secondary and Vocational Education Office and other partners complements your role. You deal with questions of good and contemporary teaching, being professionally, pedagogically, organisationally and personally responsible for ensuring this in the department. In the gibb school management, you represent the department and, together with your colleagues, consider the perspective of the entire school, addressing strategic issues and helping to shape gibb’s future-oriented development in times of change.

Requirements

• You are a motivating, convincing personality with very good organisational and communication skills as well as high social competence. - You are interested in exploring new paths, further developing teaching and organisation, seeking future-oriented solutions together and implementing them. - You have a flair for dealing with young people, teachers and also external contacts. - You bring experience and training in leadership as well as pedagogical training and teaching experience in vocational education. - A degree at university, university of applied sciences or higher vocational education level completes your profile. Through the development of national and international projects and activities, intercultural skills and foreign languages are becoming increasingly important at gibb.
