You know exactly what occupational therapy is really about — not about pegboards on the table and a leaflet to take away. It’s about Mr M. buttoning his shirt himself again. About Mrs W. having breakfast alone at the kitchen table after a stroke. About someone who no longer thought it possible managing it after all — because you know where to start. That’s exactly why we exist.

• 08:00 You start with your company car. First assignment in Ostermundigen — client after stroke, training independence in everyday life. You already know her, know what’s planned for this week.
• 08:15 Kitchen instead of therapy room. The kettle is too high, the drawer sticks, the affected hand isn’t cooperating yet. This is exactly where what really matters in everyday life becomes visible. You observe, adjust, instruct the daughter for exercises between your visits.
• 09:45 Short drive to Ittigen, less than 15 minutes. On the way you call the physiotherapist — shared client, coordination on assistive device provision. Bath board or shower chair? Decision made together, today.
• 10:15 Second assignment. Home modification after hospital discharge. You look at the path from bed to bathroom, the door thresholds, the handle heights — and immediately know what adjustments are needed in the next three weeks. You write the report to the health insurance later via app.
• 12:30 Lunch break — you choose where. No canteen table, no briefing in the meeting room.
• 13:30 to 16:30 Three more assignments in Zollikofen, Breitenrain and Stettlen, hand therapy, cognitive training, fall prevention — all in the real everyday life of the clients. You finish at 17:00.

• Mobile occupational therapy at clients’ homes — apartment, bathroom, kitchen, neighbourhood
• Geriatric and orthopaedic rehabilitation — after falls, hand injuries, prosthesis provision or hospital discharge
• Training of daily activities — personal care, dressing, cooking, household in the real living environment
• Hand therapy, fine motor skills and cognitive training — according to your client’s needs
• Interdisciplinary collaboration with physiotherapy, speech therapy and nursing for the same client
• Reports for disability insurance, health insurers and referring doctors — digital, on the go

• Diploma as occupational therapist FH or equivalent — recognised in Switzerland
• Driving licence category B — you drive daily between your assignments. Company car including private use provided from day 1.
• Experience with adults — neurology, geriatrics, hand therapy. Paediatrics is a different professional field.
• Independent working — you decide on site, without a supervisor in the room. The team is reachable by phone, but not present.
• Local knowledge in the Bern area is an advantage — you move between city, village, neighbourhood and old building staircases.
• You don’t need your own therapy room — your workplace is the client’s home. This is method, not a compromise.
