Head of Health Service 80 - 100%The Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The newly established main department Medical Service ensures the medical-somatic basic care for the incarcerated persons in all correctional institutions of the Canton of Zurich. As a central organisational unit, it guarantees a harmonised and high-quality health care according to the equivalence principle and works closely with the Psychiatric-Psychological Service and the JuWe institutions.
One of these institutions is the Limmattal Prison (GFL), located in the district building Dietikon, which together with the Horgen Prison Department (GFH) offers 121 places for incarcerated persons. The Affoltern Prison (GFA) is an institution specialised in closed enforcement of custodial sentences.
We are looking for a competent leader who will actively lead and support the health service of the three institutions – Affoltern Prison, Limmattal Prison and Horgen Prison.
This is your field of activity
- You lead the medical service of the three locations (Affoltern, Dietikon and Horgen) in terms of personnel, expertise and organisation
- Together with your team, you ensure the high-quality somatic basic care of the incarcerated persons
- You also support your team in day-to-day operations and thus remain close to practice
- You coordinate collaboration within your team and strengthen interdisciplinary cooperation within the institutions
- You work closely with internal and external partners
- You ensure administrative tasks such as documentation, reporting and information management
- You continuously develop the medical service professionally, organisationally and conceptually, actively contribute your ideas to the establishment of the new main department and actively shape the future direction
Your profile
- You hold a Swiss-recognised diploma as a nursing specialist and have several years of practical experience – preferably in acute care, emergency care or somatics
- SIMED experience is an advantage
- You have already gained leadership experience and ideally completed further training in this area
- You enjoy taking responsibility in a heterogeneous and intercultural context
- You take pleasure in shaping change and building new structures across locations
- You are an organisational talent and have the ability to keep an overview and make well-founded decisions even in demanding situations
- Strong communication skills, strategic thinking, high social competence, de-escalation ability and a willingness to innovate complete your profile
- You have an impeccable reputation (no entries in the criminal record or debt enforcement register)
