Summary of responsibilities:
Reporting to the Evening Floor Housekeeper, the essential responsibilities and functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Consistently provide a professional, friendly and pleasant service
- Inspect rooms according to hotel standards
- Supervise the housekeeping team, note in the instruction book and participate in relocations
- Motivate employees in their work, encourage and support them
- Assist team members if needed
- Ensure communication between floor staff and management
- Transmit necessary information to superiors for the smooth running of the department
- Familiarise with the floors assigned by the Assistant Executive Housekeeper or Executive Housekeeper as well as various instructions (agenda/email/memos) and follow up
- Inform floor staff of corrective actions to be taken when inspecting rooms and ensure maintenance of standards related to floor staff
- Organise the schedule of their sector based on the Opera system report and adjust it according to hotel priorities
- Always be aware of the progress of their team
- Participate in the training of new department employees
- Ensure the proper upkeep of floors, offices and equipment
- Cover the evening supervisor’s leave twice a week
- Actively participate in the development of total quality approach, notably through improvement proposals
- Participate in an annual performance review with their superior
- Know the technical and emotional LQA standards and apply them daily through internal audits
- Commit to the quality of their service, discretion and absolute honesty
- Maintain a professional attitude, be smiling and remain calm at all times
- Respect ergonomic work standards, health & safety rules, hygiene and sanitary prescriptions
- Respect the policies, procedures and service standards of the department and company
- Perform any other assigned tasks
Qualifications:
- Recognised hotel diploma or certificate is an asset
- Minimum 6 months supervisory experience
- Minimum 1 year experience in 4* and 5* hotel housekeeping
- Fluent verbal and written French
- Good knowledge of English
- Attention to detail
- Proficiency with computer tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of Opera system is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to focus on customer needs while remaining calm and courteous at all times
